Panama is a country world renounced for its rivers of rare and remote beauty. The rivers vary in difficulty, providing white water adventures for every rafter, beginner to most advanced.
The Chiriqui Viejo is a World Class River that has all. Located near the Panama-Costa Rican border. It has virgin forest, water falls, and wild life that is not surpassed anywhere in Central America. Best of all, it has some of the best rapids anywhere in the world. This river can be run on day trips or two night camping trips are available.
Outside of Chiriqui province, you can raft on the historic Chagres River near Panama City and as well as several few rivers in the province of Cocle near El Valle de Anton.
White Water Rafting Areas:
Río Chiriquí Viejo: a world class epic river. Class III-V sections. Intense rapids within the tropical rainforest.
Chiriquí River: a classic among Panama's white water river rafting trips. Lots of fun spots. Class III-IV rapids.
Caldera River: one long continous rapid packed with fun & technical Class IV action very close to Boquete.
Río Gariché: an immersion within Panama's tropical beauty. Class II-III rapids for families and beginners.
Dolega River: a Class III within the jungle and very close to Boquete at an affordable price.
Río Majagua: a favorite section among beginner rafters & kayaking trips. Class II rapids and many pools.
Estí River: the perfect choice for families with young children. Mild class II rapids.
